SSEF Supports Families of Orphans Through Zakat and Ramadan Food Aid


Sharjah: The Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation (SSEF) has initiated the distribution of Zakat Al-Mal and Ramadan food aid proceeds, amounting to nearly AED2 million. This initiative benefits around 1,200 affiliated families, including more than 2,700 orphans in the Emirate of Sharjah and the Central and Eastern regions, as part of the ‘Zakki’ campaign.



According to Emirates News Agency, this effort aligns with the foundation’s strategy to manage Zakat funds through a structured approach, ensuring they reach the intended recipients. The initiative aims to meet the basic needs of families during the holy month, enhancing their stability and supporting the long-term empowerment of their children.



Mona Bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Director-General of SSEF, stated that the ‘Zakki’ campaign is a pivotal strategy to transform the Zakat obligation into a sustainable developmental impact, contributing to family stability and improved quality of life. With over 23 years of experience, the foundation is committed to managing Zakat funds with the highest standards of governance and transparency. This management ensures investments in programs that enhance empowerment, independence, and the building of a self-reliant generation that can positively engage in society.



She highlighted that community trust and support are crucial for sustaining and expanding the reach of these efforts. When managed with a clear institutional vision, Zakat becomes a genuine investment in people and society.



Through the “Zakki” campaign, SSEF continues to fulfill its mission of transforming giving into a lasting impact, fostering stability, and empowering families and children who have lost their fathers.
