Sharjah:His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, attended the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Sharjah Council for Higher Education and Scientific Research and Advance HE from the United Kingdom. The ceremony took place on Monday morning at the Council's headquarters in University City.
According to Emirates News Agency, the MoU was signed by Dr. Aisha Bukhater Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Sharjah Council for Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Alistair Jarvis, Chief Executive of Advance HE. The agreement aims to enhance the development of Sharjah's higher education sector by leveraging Advance HE's expertise and resources.
The cooperation will focus on various areas, including professional development, leadership programs, enhancing teaching quality, building academic staff capabilities, and organizing workshops and seminars. Additionally, the agreement facilitates the adoption of the Professional Standards Framework by higher education institutions in Sharjah, providing a benchmark for university teaching quality.
The MoU also encourages institutions in Sharjah to consider institutional membership with Advance HE, allowing them to engage with international academic networks and benefit from global benchmarking practices.
