ADFD Secures Loan Agreements for Energy and Housing Projects in Tajikistan and Seychelles

Abu dhabi: Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) has formalized two significant loan agreements aimed at supporting infrastructure projects in Tajikistan and Seychelles. The agreements include funding for the Rogun Hydroelectric Power Station in Tajikistan, valued at AED376 million, and a social housing project in Seychelles, valued at AED32 million.

According to Emirates News Agency, the agreements were finalized during the World Governments Summit 2026, showcasing ADFD's strategic involvement in international development efforts. The social housing agreement saw participation from His Excellency Patrick Herminie, President of Seychelles, with Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of ADFD, and Pierre Laporte, Seychelles' Minister of Finance, Economic Planning, Trade, and Investment, signing the document.

The agreement for the Rogun Hydroelectric Power Station was signed by Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi and H.E. Faiziddin Qahhorzoda, Minister of Finance of Tajikistan. This project is part of the Abu Dhabi Global Water Platform initiative, which ADFD launched recently, aimed at enhancing energy security and water resilience.

These agreements highlight ADFD's dedication to providing innovative and sustainable financing solutions, addressing critical global challenges in energy and water sectors, while also promoting inclusive development and aligning with the development priorities of partner countries.
